We are seeking an experienced Landscaping Team Leader, with building, paving and concreting experience, to lead a team of 2 - 4 landscapers and create beautiful commercial and residential yards in the Whangarei area.As a Team Leader, your main responsibility is to ensure that your team has all the necessary resources to complete their tasks safely, efficiently, and within budget. This includes sharing your expertise and giving continuous feedback to your team members and clients. You'll also get involved in doing everything from site set-out to planting, timber work, paving, lawn care, and much more as this is a team-based role.Responsibilities include but are not limited to:Landscape Construction – reading construction plans, you install hardscapes and/or softscapes to our clients' specifications. Depending on the project and your skills, that can include planting, mulching, timber works, concreting, paving (all varieties using both mortar and sand-based materials), and installing irrigation.Quality - your work is of the highest standard; you are thorough and take pride in doing well. What you don't know yet, you'll learn from your Project Manager, Site Supervisor, or Site Manager.Health & Safety - you make sure you and your workmates go home unharmed every day.Teamwork - you'll be an active team member, encouraging your team to complete assigned work to a high standard, while having all the support from Project Managers in maintaining great relationships with clients.The Landscape Construction responsibilities are dependent on the project work that we have available, which means no two days are the same!If you enjoy spending your days outdoors and getting involved in practical work, this is the job for you!About You:You'll have a passion for landscaping, a strong work ethic, and enjoy being on the tools and in the garden. You're a team player, willing to learn and ideally already have extensive experience in paving using both mortar and sand base materials, accurately working to drawing/building levels, and working in unison with our site teams to achieve deadlines.You will also have considerable experience in gardening and handling tools (ideally including heavy machinery) and get immense satisfaction from completing a project and pleasing clients.
