Breeder Farm Manager - Tramway Breeder Farm

About the role We are currently looking for an experienced Farm Manager for one of our breeders' farms (Tramway Breeder Farm) within our Livestock Team.
Based in Christchurch, you will be accountable for managing and maintaining a poultry farm operation.
Reporting to the Breeder Manager, you will need planning skills with an enquiring mind and be a good problem solver.
As a Farm Manager you will be responsible for the breeder flocks, ensuring each flock achieves high standards through careful monitoring and control.
You will monitor your flocks daily to ensure good health and welfare, as well as reporting on farm production on a regular basis.
The role is challenging and hands-on, so it requires a person who is meticulous, thorough, and self-motivated.
To be considered for this role you will need extensive experience in poultry farming, preferably in breeders.
A relevant tertiary qualification would be preferable but is not essential.
Our ideal candidate would possess the following attributes: Experience with livestock including a genuine concern for animal welfare.
Experience with modern poultry farm equipment and control systems.
Be committed to quality and budget management.
Experience liaising with service providers.
Focused on health and safety.
Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends.
Physically capable of performing a hands-on livestock role.
Be mechanically minded and understand equipment and machinery maintenance.
