Korero mo te Turanga | About the Role
As a team leader, you'll guide a team of specialists in delivering the Biodiversity and Biosecurity operations north of the Waimakariri River through to the Waiau Toa (Clarence) River. The role is based in our Amberley office and manages a team of up to ten staff, based in Amberley, Kaikoura, and Cheviot.

Lead a team of specialists focusing on staff development
Ensure the delivery of targets
Implement operational work programmes
Promote awareness around biodiversity and biosecurity
Work to build strong relationships with Ngati Kuri and Ngai Tuahuriri
Ensure appropriate Health and Safety Systems are in place
Mou ¦ About You
Ideally, you'll have a tertiary qualification in a related specialty (e.g. biodiversity management, natural resource management, ecology), with a minimum of five years' experience leading teams and a good understanding of the North Canterbury Environment. You'll be capable of building strong relationships with our Treaty Partners, key stakeholders, farmers, and the greater community. Your background will be working in the Biodiversity and/or Biosecurity space and you will have a passion for the environment.

Familiar with the Resource Management, Biosecurity & Health and Safety Acts & other associated legislative requirements and rules
Experience in leading teams and people
Experience working with stakeholders including landowners, iwi, & community groups
Skilled at managing expectations of our diverse stakeholders
