We believe in the joy that flowers bring to people's lives, and we are passionate about what we do.As a result, we are seeking a dynamic and experienced Branch Manager who will also serve as an Auctioneer to lead our Christchurch branch, based in Wigram.The Role:As the Branch Manager, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing all aspects of branch operations, with a key focus on managing the wholesale and auction process. You will lead the auction events, ensuring they run smoothly and efficiently, while also taking an active role as an Auctioneer. In addition, you will oversee the daily operations of the branch, drive sales initiatives, and maintain relationships with both growers and buyers.Key Responsibilities:Lead and manage the wholesale operations, ensuring efficient logistics and product flow.Conduct auction events as the Auctioneer, facilitating a fair and competitive bidding process.Oversee the auction process from start to finish, ensuring accurate pricing and a seamless experience for all participants.Build and sustain strong relationships with flower growers and key buyers.Manage branch operations, including inventory management, staffing, and customer service.Drive sales growth through strategic planning and identifying market opportunities.Ensure financial targets are met and monitor branch performance against KPIs.Maintain compliance with industry regulations and health and safety standards.Muck in and get your hands dirty leading distribution as required.About You:To excel in this role, you will need:Previous experience in a leadership role (or a 2IC looking for the next step).Expertise in sales strategy, fiscal management, and business operations.The confidence and capability to manage online auction events, high energy and enthusiastic with strong computer literacy.Knowledge of flowers, plants, and related products would be ideal but not essential.Excellent leadership and communication skills with a focus on team development.Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with growers and buyers.Financial acumen, including budgeting, forecasting, and sales analysis.Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.A commitment to upholding the highest standards in health, safety, and compliance.Why UFG?We offer a great team culture, lots of exposure to growers and buyers in this fast-paced flower industry, surrounded by beautiful flowers all day long, learning and advancement opportunities for those who seek it, and early morning starts mean that you are able to have the whole afternoon free.
