Branch Accountant

Join our Branch Accountant team at PlaceMakers. You will be part of our wider Finance & Commercial team, managing the accounting needs of 6 branches in Dunedin & Invercargill.
You will be instrumental in providing an operational accounting & support function to ensure that all financial and planning obligations are met while building strong stakeholder relationships.
Responsibilities include: Review & Complete daily bank reconciliationsP&L and Balance Sheet reviews with Branch OperatorsWork with the sales team to ensure accuracy of margin reporting and the enhancement of marginPreparation of Monthly and Year-End reports, both internal and externalMaintaining the Fixed Asset registerAssist with Capex requestsAnnual Budget reviewsMonitoring and analysis of branch performance against targetsThis is an 8-month FIX TERM CONTRACT. Offering 40 hours a week, Monday-Friday, based full time in our Support office in Penrose. About you: We are looking for an Accountant who has a real passion for what you do. With strong problem-solving capability and exceptional attention to detail, you have a can-do attitude, are tech-savvy, and have gained experience within both financial and management accounting processes.
Key attributes we're looking for: Be a Chartered Accountant or be in the processHave at least 3 years' experience in accountingExposure to accounting packages/ERP systems, of which JDE would be an advantageIdeally have experience in an Inventory management business – Retail, warehousing, stockExcellent communication skills with the ability to build strong stakeholder relationships in remote locationsJoin Us: We value diversity and encourage applications from all backgrounds.
