Athletics Northland is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Chair to lead our Charitable Trust. This co-opted appointment presents a unique opportunity for a strategic leader to drive growth and promote athletics across Northland.
About Athletics Northland:
Our mission is to deliver outstanding athletics experiences through quality track and field and out of stadia events (cross country, road, and trail activities). Athletics forms the foundation of all sports, encompassing essential skills of running, jumping, and throwing. Northland is experiencing a resurgence in running, and we aim to capitalize on this momentum to grow the sport across all levels.
Key Collaborations:
Working in close partnership with Athletics New Zealand, Sport Northland, and Parafed Northland, Athletics Northland is well-positioned to advance athletics in the region. With Athletics New Zealand prioritizing Northland as a targeted growth region and a newly appointed Northland Development Manager in place, this is an exciting time to join and steer Athletics Northland into its next chapter.
About the Role:
As Chair, you'll bring strong leadership and governance experience to guide Athletics Northland and foster collaboration within the athletics community. The role involves four board meetings annually, one AGM, and participation in the Athletics NZ regional leadership group, which meets annually in person. Your efforts will directly impact the growth of athletics in Northland, making this foundation sport more accessible and enjoyable for all.
This is a voluntary position.
