Permanent, full-time role based in Masterton.

He angitutanga | About the role We are seeking a positive and self-motivated leader to join our team as a Biodiversity Coordinator, focused on supporting the systems and processes for prioritisation, allocation, delivery and review of biodiversity work across the Chathams Wairarapa District.
As Biodiversity Coordinator you will monitor and report on budgets and be involved in bigger picture planning and collaboration with the Biodiversity Senior Ranger.
You will assist with monitoring and review of non-financial information, monitoring performance and identifying emerging issues.
This role will also require you to provide advice to Rangers to facilitate the consistent capture and recommendation of work which is aligned with the annual work plan.

If you have the following attributes, we are keen to hear from you: Understanding of biodiversity conservation management principles, and DOC biodiversity direction and field operations Good analytical skills, identifies anomalies and issues, recommends solutions Understanding of financial processes and ways to use resources efficiently Proficient user of SAP and MS Office applications Skilled in working with experts to understand technical advice and applying and communicating technical information clearly Excellent communication and leadership skills Proven high level experience with Microsoft Office suite, GIS and other systems Outstanding planning and organisational skills, with attention to detail and commitment to achieving team objectives A strong commitment to health and safety work practices Good financial management and proven ability to work within a budget Working in partnership with community groups, volunteers, iwi, whanau, and hapu Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Embrace Tikanga Maori cultural perspectives and values Full New Zealand Driver's Licence Ability to occasionally travel to Chatham Islands Desirable: A tertiary qualification, or equivalent experience and achievements, in conservation/ecology/biology.

The salary range for this position is $68,535 to $86,423 with the starting salary of the successful applicant being based on their relevant skills and experience.
Eligibility to work in New Zealand is mandatory – this includes holding a valid work visa that covers the whole period of employment.
