As our in-store Bike Mechanic at our Napier store, you'll be at the heart of our bike community, helping customers get the most out of their cycling adventures. You'll use your technical skills to assemble, tune, and repair bikes, ensuring they're safe and ready for the trails. And, because we're all about selling experiences, not just products, you'll deliver top-notch service, making sure every customer leaves with a smile.
Hours of the role (you will work around 35 hours per week as per the roster below): Tuesday 8.45am - 5.15pmThursday 8.45am - 5.15pmFriday 8:45am - 5:15pmSaturday 8:45am - 5:15pmWhat You'll Do: Customer Experience: Create an exceptional customer experience by helping with bike assembly, setup, and repairs.Technical Expertise: Ensure every bike is in perfect working order, delivering safe and enjoyable experiences for our customers.Store Efficiency: Help maintain smooth store operations by accurately processing transactions and keeping inventory updated.Team Collaboration: Work closely with your teammates to ensure everything runs smoothly, especially during busy periods.Adaptability: Stay flexible and ready to adapt to changing priorities in a dynamic retail environment.Communication: Provide clear, friendly advice to customers and collaborate with team members effectively.What You'll Bring: Proven experience in a bike workshop or a qualification in the bike industry (ideally 1-2 years).A genuine passion for bikes and the great outdoors.Strong communication skills and a customer-first attitude.The ability to build rapport easily with customers and colleagues alike.Physical stamina to manage standing for long periods and moderate lifting.A positive, can-do attitude and the flexibility to work multiple shifts.If you're ready to bring your bike expertise and love for the outdoors to a team that shares your passion, we'd love to hear from you.
