About us Acorn Neurodiversity is a non-profit organisation based in Auckland. We support neurodivergent children and youth by providing them with the tools they need to reach their potential. Our multidisciplinary team employs evidence-based, neuro-affirming practices to empower children and their families, celebrating individuality and embracing differences.
Qualifications & experience Registered NZ Psychologist and/or Board-Certified Behaviour AnalystExperience supporting neurodivergent tamariki and rangatahiMaster's DegreeCultural competence to engage with whanau from diverse backgroundsSpecific training in Behaviour AnalysisExperience working within a multidisciplinary team (desirable but not required)Clearance from a criminal record checkNZ permanent residency/citizenship or valid NZ work visaTasks & responsibilities Build trusting relationships with clients, colleagues and external professionals.Conduct behavioural assessments (e.g., functional assessments, IISCA, VB-MAPP, ESDM, ABLLS-R, AFLS, EFL)Design and implement interventions supporting:Language and communicationSocial-emotional skillsPlay & leisure skillsActivities of daily livingCommunity & safety skillsExecutive functioningCognitive and academic skillsBehavioural challenges and barriers to learning.Collaborate within a multidisciplinary teamSupervise cases for early-years and school-aged autism programme clientsMonitor client progress through direct observation and data collectionLead and/or participate in client team meetingsTrain and educate family members and other key stakeholders (e.g., teachers, learning assistants, caregivers)Develop transition and safety plans as neededWrite assessment, termination, and progress reportsBenefits Transparent salary scale with opportunities for progressionAnnual professional development fundInternal peer supervisionExternal clinical supervisionFlexible workingInterdisciplinary collaborationReimbursement of APCIn-house training from the MDTMake a lasting difference in the lives of children and their families!
