We provide specialist behaviour support services to people with disabilities of all ages by working with their families/whanau and support networks.The key purpose of the Behaviour Specialist role is to deliver quality services based on a positive behaviour support framework which is consistent with our contract obligations with the Ministry of Health and other providers as required.About UsHealthCare New Zealand supports and empowers people in need to live independently, safely and well in their community.Key ResponsibilitiesTo deliver quality services based on a positive behaviour support framework.To work with culturally diverse population and be committed to supporting clients in a culturally responsive manner.To have an understanding of and commitment to The Code of Health and Disabilities Services Consumer Rights, The Treaty of Waitangi and bi-cultural practice.RequirementsA tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline or at least 3 years relevant experience in the disability field.An understanding of Positive Behaviour Support.An understanding of communication and the relationship with behaviour.Experience of functional assessment and implementation of a behaviour plan.What We OfferWe will support you to learn the role.We recognise the importance of work/life balance and we provide a workplace with flexibility.We promote a safe and supportive environment where colleagues can share and learn from one another.We pride ourselves on providing competitive salaries and professional development and progression.How To ApplyPlease apply including a CV and covering letter.
