The role will be based in the Invercargill office.An exciting opportunity open to:People with a tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline or at least 3 years relevant experience in the disability fieldOccupational TherapistsSpeech and Language TherapistsSocial WorkersBehaviour Therapists/Specialists (BCBA's)TeachersExperience in the field of disability and/or behaviour supportA current Annual Practicing Certificate (APC) where this is requiredAn understanding of and commitment to: The Code of Health and Disabilities Services Consumer Rights, The Treaty of Waitangi and bi-cultural practiceGood interpersonal skills and ability to build rapport; proactive and responsive to client needs and colleagues/team needsExcellent verbal and written communication skills, including competence in professional report writingA current full New Zealand driver's licenceProven ability to work in teams and in a 'transdisciplinary' mannerKnowledge and understanding of the principles of evidence-based behavioural approachesAn understanding of Positive Behaviour SupportAn understanding of communication and the relationship with behaviourExperience of functional assessment and implementation of a behaviour planExperience with Microsoft Office Suite and client management systemsAbility to travel and flexibility to stay overnight to meet the demands of the roleWe will support you to learn the role.
