As an Accounting Manager in the public practice sector, you will playa crucial role in managing and overseeing the firm's accountingoperations.
This is an exciting opportunity for an individual with strongleadership skills and a deep understanding of public practice accountingprinciples.Responsibilities: Manage and supervise the daily activities of the accounting department,focusing on public practice accounting services such as audit, assurance,and tax preparation.Oversee the planning, execution, and completion of client engagements,ensuring compliance with relevant accounting and auditing standards.Review financial statements, tax returns, and other financial documentsprepared by the team, providing guidance and ensuring accuracy andquality.Conduct risk assessments and implement appropriate internal controls tomitigate potential risks.Collaborate with partners and senior management to develop strategies,expand client relationships, and enhance the firm's public practiceofferings.Stay updated on industry trends, regulatory changes, and accountingstandards applicable to public practice accounting.Mentor and develop junior staff members, providing guidance, training,and performance evaluations.Build strong client relationships, providing exceptional service andidentifying opportunities for additional services.Liaise with regulatory authorities, auditors, and tax advisors asnecessary to ensure compliance and successful completion ofengagements.
Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a relatedfield.Proven work experience in a public practice accounting firmThorough knowledge of accounting and auditing standards, taxregulations, and industry-specific guidelines.Familiarity with accounting software such as Xero and MYOBStrong analytical skills, with the ability to review and interpretfinancial data and provide strategic insights.Excellent organizational and project management skills, with theability to handle multiple client engagements simultaneously.Demonstrated leadership abilities and the capacity to mentor andmotivate a team.Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability tobuild rapport with clients and collaborate effectively withcolleagues.
