Requirements
3 years Relevant Experience in Retail or Service or Management or Accounting or Business or Customer Services irrespective of the Industry you have worked inorLevel 4 Relevant Qualifications in Management or Arts or B Com or Economics or Business orRetail required
AND
Must have Valid Duty Manager Liquor Licence of New Zealand

Duties:
As a Bar Manager's role includes ensuring that all licences necessary for the operation of the bar are kept certified and up to date.
As a Bar Manager you will also be in charge of renewing a licence once it has lapsed.
To motivate and inspire their team every day to deliver the best possible service to their customers.
Must ensure that they are delivering great customer service to their customers while maintaining great business practices.
Must resolve particular conflicts while keeping staff safe from injury and harassment.
Must be able to mediate arguments between staff and come up with fair and equitable solutions.
Responsible for maintaining the bar's atmosphere. This can involve:
Maintaining appropriate lighting levels
Choosing and arranging the appropriate furniture and decorations
Selecting appropriate music that fits the bar's ambience
Restricting access of certain customers
Stock levels must remain consistent in order for the manager to plan for high and low demand periods accordingly.
Negotiate with their suppliers in order to get the best possible deal for the bar.
Ensure that inventory is taken on a regular basis. This will not only ensure that stock levels remain consistent, but that shrink doesn't occur as a result of damage, clerical errors, or employee theft.
Use your point of sale (POS) to manage your inventory levels and make sure that all your records are updated in real time.
Attend frequent meetings with Bar Owners
Source and train staff to best fit the Bar's needs
Schedule staff in an efficient manner to best cover the demands of the customers
Communicate with vendors to assure the appropriate amount of products are on hand on shelves
Resolve all staff conflicts swiftly and properly
Assure all transactions and banking are conducted with no variance
Work shifts required to meet the needs of the Bar. This may include nights, weekends and holidays
Spend busy nights glad-handing customers to ensure their dining experience is the best
Monitor the Gaming Floor to spot improper gameplay
Supervise and train staff, performing evaluations and negotiating raises
Communicate and enforce gaming lounge rules with customers
Resolve customer questions and complaints
Ensure employees act ethically when handling money
Implement loss prevention strategies to minimize financial risk
