We have a passionate and hardworking team and are looking for a similarly minded baker to join us in a full-time position, with the hours being a minimum of 40 hours per week.
We proudly craft our breads and pastries from scratch (no premixes here) with an emphasis on freshly made products.

The rate for a qualified baker will be $29.66-$30 per hour. We also will help with relocation costs for you and your family. New World Matamata is located in a central location of the Upper North Island – with only a short 45 minutes to Mt Maunganui, Rotorua, and Hamilton.
Qualifications, Experience & Key Tasks: Bakery Qualification Level 4 or higher is required
1-2 years previous baking experience essential
Baking required daily levels of bread, rolls, and other bread products
Baking, icing, and decorating cakes for customer orders as well as for display
Preparing and baking pastries including appropriate fillings
Producing other bakery specific products as required i.e. scones, muffins, biscuits, slices, fresh cream products, pies, sausage rolls, pizzas, etc.
Receive inwards goods ensuring products meet Food Safety requirements
Maintain daily production schedule and minimise wastage
Strong communication (verbal and written) and able to effectively resolve all customer related enquiries
Healthy and physically fit to work in a fast-paced bakery team
Reliable team player able to work early starts and/or late finishes with flexibility to work non-rostered days as required
