Aviation Security Officer Aviation Security Service | Wellington Airport $72,187 per annum | Full-Time Start date: late November 2024 This vacancy relates to frontline roles within Aviation Security at the Civil Aviation Authority. New Zealand is experiencing a surge in travel, making this the perfect time to become an Aviation Security Officer (ASO). We have several permanent full-time positions available for our upcoming training intake in late November 2024. What You'll Do As an ASO, you'll play a vital role in ensuring the safety and security of our airports. Your responsibilities will include: Conducting pre-flight and baggage security screenings for departing passengers. Utilising specialist equipment and processes to maintain aerodrome safety. Performing mobile, foot, and static patrols in designated areas. Checking ID cards are displayed appropriately in security areas. Preventing breaches of aviation security and safety. You'll receive a comprehensive 9-week classroom-based and on-the-job training programme, including 3 weeks in Christchurch, where you'll get paid to learn and earn a NZQA Level 4 qualification. To join our team, you need to meet the following criteria: NZ/Australian citizenship or NZ residency. Be medically fit and willing to undergo a medical assessment. Have a full, clean NZ driver's license. Be flexible to work a rostered shift pattern of 6 days on, 3 days off (including early mornings, late nights, weekends, and public holidays).
