Groundskeeper Auckland Zoo is recognised as one of the most progressive zoos in the world. A winner of national and international environmental-related awards, it is home to 135 different species and over 1400 animals.

We are currently looking for our next grounds person to join the Grounds team!
Within this role you will be responsible for preparing and maintaining the zoo grounds. This includes maintaining the exterior surfaces of buildings, fixtures, signs and public areas and utilising equipment such as mowers, leaf blowers and edge trimmers.
A central part of the work also involves managing the collection of inorganic and organic waste. This role is an essential part of the overall success of the zoo providing the best environment for our visitors, staff and animals.
This is a permanent, full-time position, working 40 hours across Tuesday to Saturday roster.
He korero mou : About you As a ground's person, you will demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work independently and positively contribute to a team environment.
You will spend the majority of the day on your feet with medium to heavy lifting from time to time, so strong stamina and a good level of fitness is essential.
You will also possess : Previous experience maintaining grounds is desirable Experience using mowers, edge trimmers, and leaf blowers An understanding of health and safety requirements Enthusiasm with a 'can-do' attitude NZ Divers License (manual vehicle) required HT desirable, but not essential You will have good time management skills as well as the ability to meet your deadlines. Keeping an open mind and remaining flexible is essential as is a positive approach to being part of the team.
