As an Assurance Consultant in the Digital Public Service Branch at the Department of Internal Affairs, you'll take the lead in analysing, reporting and guiding System Leads on risks and opportunities across the digital investment landscape. This is your chance to design and implement processes to guide public sector agencies toward a more connected digital future for New Zealand.About the RoleReporting to the Practice Lead, you'll play a key role in shifting from project-based assurance to system-level assurance. This role involves collaborating across diverse stakeholders—within DIA and the wider public sector—to deliver data-driven insights and implement practical, forward-thinking solutions.Key responsibilities include:Transitioning to system-level assurance, using data from multiple agencies to identify risks and opportunities.Developing and analysing assurance indicators to guide decision-making.Leading change management efforts, creating and embedding new processes to support system-wide improvements.Building strong, productive relationships and influencing stakeholders to drive digital capability uplift.As part of a small, agile team, you'll act as a change agent, providing advice, tools, and resources to support agencies in aligning with the Strategy for a Digital Public Service.Why This Role MattersThis is your opportunity to step into an informal leadership role, improving assurance at a strategic level and helping create a more connected, efficient, and resilient digital government.
