The Opportunity Our Auckland Audit and Assurance Team are currently looking for an Associate Director with Financial Services Industry experience. In this role, your purpose will be that of a senior manager within the business, positively influencing teams and delivering exceptional client service, predominately in the FSI space. You will be working with other highly talented professional people with the same dedicated focus to make an impact that matters. In addition to audit engagements, you may have the opportunity to assist with related advisory roles.
Your typical day will include: Managing multiple pieces of work concurrentlyRegular communication with clients and audit teams, scheduling and executing high quality audit engagements.Ensuring client and internal deadlines are met, without compromising on audit quality.Manage project plans to optimize engagementsFormulate reasonable judgements and conclusions in order to deliver informative and timely outputsResearching accounting technical guidance within relevant framework of GAAP/NZ IFRS/PBES and/or Auditing standards, to assess client accounting positions adoptedAct as role model and mentor for junior staff members providing training and development opportunities, and influencing the team positively.Keeping audit efficiency top of mind.Working to maintain up-to-date technical knowledge related to regulatory/statutory requirements and compliance.Assist with preparation of business reports and management letters for clients highlighting recommendations related to key issues.Enough about us, let's talk about you. You are someone with: Minimum of 7 years' experience in external audit, working as an Assurance & Advisory Manager.Financial Services Industry experienceGeneral knowledge of both financial reporting and auditingYou preferably will be CA qualifiedStrong knowledge of New Zealand Auditing and Assurance Standards.Strong knowledge of IFRS reporting standardsLike most technically capable people you will have a fine eye for detail and will enjoy the constantly changing landscape of the regulatory environment, auditing and assurance standards, and financial reporting standards.Equally important will be your skills in communicating the crucial aspects of these standards throughout the firm.Learning and the dissemination of knowledge will be a passion as will be the determination to remain on the cutting edge of your profession.Deloitte rewards We hold a simple belief – that our people's hard work should be recognised and rewarded beyond their remuneration.
