2x Senior Nursing Leadership Opportunities Extensive Intensive Care knowledge and experience compulsory Permanent 1.0 FTE positions - rostered shifts to suit service requirements Mo te tunga | About the role The Intensive Care Service at Christchurch Hospital is expanding and opening further ICU / HDU beds; in total there will be 36 capable ICU beds.
We are seeking two full-time Associate Charge Nurse Managers (ACNMs), to provide nursing leadership, advanced clinical care and nursing expertise covering a wide range of clinical specialities including Neurosurgical, Cardiothoracic, Paediatric, Spinal, Trauma and General ICU Nursing. The majority of our patients are acute admissions which requires an adaptive management style in an ever-changing clinical environment.
The ACNM supports the ICU Nurse Manager and is responsible for the day-to-day operational management in our department. Leading a team of nurses on a shift-by-shift basis, you will be the liaison person between the Department and users of the service. In addition to this, you will provide leadership to an assigned group of nurses and hospital aides, providing them with professional guidance and support. You will have the opportunity to be involved with other clinical projects in the department and will hold a number of departmental portfolios.
By utilising your extensive intensive care knowledge, experience and clinical skills, you will be able to initiate ongoing expert nursing care. You will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills by developing therapeutic relationships with all staff. You will be able to provide effective clinical leadership, high-quality evidence-based practice, direction and support to the nursing staff and families of the ICU.

You will have extensive experience working within ICU and either hold or be working towards a relevant postgraduate qualification. Registered with the Nursing Council of New Zealand with a current APC.
