About the role
Reporting directly to a Business Director, the Associate Business Director will be responsible for overseeing a specific client portfolio. Depending on the different requirements of each client within the team, the Associate Business Director may be required to take the lead on some clients and provide support on others.

This is a considerable shift from where media agencies are currently. We need individuals to act and behave like trusted consultants to our clients. They need to be able to articulate a powerful vision for their clients' business that also clearly identifies the role that OMD plays in delivering this.

They also need to inspire our internal specialist teams to deliver work that not only works but also pushes the innovation dial in order to cultivate OMD's reputation as the leading media agency in New Zealand.

It's a dynamic and exciting role that will require the Associate Business Director to deliver the following:

Strong strategic thinker, able to deliver broad business thinking and sound decision-making Exceptional EQ Leadership - the ability to inspire and motivate peers to deliver to spec each and every time Commercial focus - understands the fundamentals of revenue and profit management, and associated reporting and invoicing The ability to build meaningful relationships at all levels from the Marketing Director to industry Graduates Strong communication skills and ability to effectively participate in senior discussions A desire to innovate and seek new opportunities to create compelling work Excellent presentation skills - enjoys presenting to large groups and is able to make the complicated seem simple Strong implementation planning knowledge across both digital and non-digital channels Proven track record of project management, including prioritisation of key projects and deadlines Attention to detail
