Assistant Retail Manager

Management - Store (Retail & Consumer Products) Join our established and friendly team at Makana's exceptional Boutique Chocolate Factory in Kerikeri, Northland.
Makana Confections Boutique Chocolate Factory is a unique, high-end retail experience where we make all our handmade confections on the premises.
We are seeking an experienced Assistant Retailer Manager (or someone with relevant, transferable skills) to join and help lead our small team.
The successful applicant will work closely with the Retail Manager and the rest of the Makana team.
The role will suit applicants who are passionate about customer service, enjoy working as a team, are willing and able to share their relevant knowledge and experience, and help train and develop staff.
Great pay rates offered depending on level of experience and responsibilities.
Excellent terms and conditions including fully subsidised Health Insurance.
The position is permanent, 5 days per week including a Saturday or Sunday.
9 hours per day, 8.30am to 6pm.
This work pattern includes a weekend day; however, shift flexibility is available so that the Managers can aim to have one full weekend off per month.
All necessary training will be provided.
Applicants will need the following: The desire to take on the challenge of providing customers with a world-class shopping experience Relevant retail/sales experience, preferably at management level Previous experience in a fast-paced/high-volume retail (or equivalent) environment Time management and planning skills High standards of personal presentation Strong IT and Microsoft 365 skills Excellent oral and written communication skills Experience in a high-volume online order fulfilment environment Exemplary interpersonal and customer service skills Be a team player with an energetic, 'can do' attitude The successful applicant must: Be living in NZ and legally entitled to work permanently in NZ Accept leave may be restricted during our high season.
This is a Hospitality/Tourism based business.
Be aware this position is in Kerikeri, and you are currently living in or are willing to relocate to the Kerikeri area.
