Bruce McLaren Intermediate School seeks an experienced leader to join our strong team.
Applicants will be able to clearly articulate their educational philosophy and be an outstanding NZ registered teacher and role model. This role has a classroom teaching component (0.4-0.6) and leadership of a whanau (teaching team).
Responsibilities: The Assistant Principal is required to:
Have an unwavering commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi and understand localised cultural heritage and Matauranga Maori.
Be an effective communicator and build strong, high trust relationships with akonga, staff, parents/whanau, and the wider community.
Work with emerging adolescents in a culturally diverse environment, modelling cultural responsiveness & sustainability.
Provide and implement opportunities where learners accelerate, wellbeing and emotional intelligence are valued, and sound academic proficiency is developed.
Lead the school in day-to-day management.
Embodiment of the BMIS vision, strategic plan and 5 values.
Show moral purpose, optimism, agency, resilience and a sense of humour.
