Grand Hotels International is known for quality accommodation, exceptional service, convenient locations, and outstanding conference and meeting facilities.We are seeking a professional Assistant Night Manager with strong leadership skills to join our newly opened Hotel! This role will support the Night Manager in the smooth running of the Hotel during the night shift, and in the absence of the Night Manager take charge of the shift. This role includes completing Reception duties, auditing of the hotel's daily transactions, preparation of daily reports, ensuring the safety and security of guests and employees, ensuring liquor licensing laws are adhered to, and overall responsibility of other departments in the hotel.The successful candidate will have previous experience as Assistant Night Manager or a minimum of two years' experience as Night Auditor and be ready for the next step in their career. The successful individual is required to be an active collaborator with the ability to inspire, lead, and foster a positive working environment, as well as have a flexible approach to working hours as the business demands. Your role will ensure that both Guests and Staff receive prompt and personal recognition and is key to delivering exceptional guest satisfaction and safety.The ideal candidate for this role will:Have previous experience in a similar role within a hotel environment.A relevant degree or diploma in Hospitality Management is highly advantageous.Great passion for guest service and creating memorable experiences for guests.Proven leadership ability managing a Front Office team.Effective time management and organisational skills with the ability to multitask, forward think and pre-plan.Excellent written and oral communication skills.Creative thinking of ideas and proactive at putting forward recommendations.Effective delegation skills, monitoring progress, and follow up.Handling guest complaints and problem-solving techniques.Remains calm, cool & courteous in a busy environment, able to take on challenges and adapt to change.A positive can-do attitude with customer service at the heart of what you do.A strong understanding of health & safety, well-being and promotes sustainability.A Managers Certificate and First Aid Certificate.The position will include, but is not limited to:To accurately collate and audit all cashiering shifts and pass all relevant information to the Finance Department.To maintain the security of the Hotel, room floors, F&B outlets, guest vehicles, and all hotel guests at all times, especially in the situation of fire or other natural disasters. Conduct scheduled security walks.Allocate and oversee the completion of the Night Auditor/Night Porter duties.Have a thorough working knowledge of "fire and emergency procedures," ensuring that all Night Staff on shift/site are familiar with these. Ensure all health and safety regulations are being adhered to.Ensure the hotel's "on license" requirements are adhered to in compliance with the Sale and Supply of Alcohol Act 2012, the Hotel's "Host Responsibility Policy, and all other New Zealand legislative requirements.Problems pertaining to maintenance to which you must attend include such things as; Air-conditioning failures, Electrical faults, leaks, burst pipes, water problems, refrigeration problems, etc. If after hours, check how serious the situation is and, if necessary, call the Duty Maintenance Staff. Record in Duty manager's Log for attention in the morning.Preparation and delivery of room service. Obtain training as and when being notified of any menu changes. Notify relevant HODs if the food preparation and delivery items and condiments are not pre-arranged prior.This is a Full Time Salaried role, which will be rostered over a 7-day period, including weekdays and weekends.
