We are currently looking for the Assistant Manager for our busy liquor store located in Pukekohe, Auckland.

Your primary objective will be to ensure the smooth running of the day-to-day operations of the store in the absence of the Manager.

Minimum guaranteed hours of work per week: 30 Hours
Days required: Monday to Sunday (Rotating hours)
Pay rate: $29.70 to $32.00 (per hour)
Your duties will include but are not limited to:
Assist the Manager to determine and maintain the stock level to ensure the store is well-stocked at all times.
Assist the Manager to identify the need and demand of present and future customers and determine the product mix accordingly.
Assist the Manager to formulate the purchasing policies to purchase inventory by researching emerging products and liaising with different suppliers for ordering and negotiating the best deals.
Ensure the store operations are in accordance with the Sale and Supply of Alcohol Act.
Ensure all staff are aware of their obligations pursuant to the Sale of Liquor Act and that the company's liquor license is not jeopardized – this includes patron conduct and intoxication.
Assist the Manager to prepare sales reports by analyzing and categorizing sales information.
Identify and investigate customer complaints and service suggestions.
Authorize clearance and promotional sales in the absence of the Manager.
Assist the Manager in setting prices of all products by ensuring the right profit margins.
Maintain records of financial transactions and be responsible for daily banking in the absence of the Manager.
Set high service standards and ensure they are followed and met at all times.
Assist the Manager to develop different marketing strategies to maximize sales and reduce expired stock.
Promote sales by demonstrating merchandise and products to customers.
Assist the Manager to recruit and hire new staff as per the requirements.
Ensure staff are well trained and organize training sessions on a timely basis to keep them updated.
Help customers by providing information, answering questions, obtaining merchandise requested, completing payment transactions, and preparing merchandise for delivery.
Maintain a safe and clean store environment by developing and publishing evacuation routes and determining and documenting locations of potentially dangerous materials and chemicals.
Maintain quality service by establishing and enforcing organizational standards.
Ensure compliance with occupational health and safety regulations.
A successful candidate must have:
One year of management experience.
Must be 18 years of age or above.
Licence Controller Qualification.
Ability to control stock within budget and generate revenue.
Time management skills and ability to work under pressure.
Physically fit as some heavy lifting is required.
Weekend and Public Holiday availability.
