Assistant Dairy Support and Cattle Farm Manager Job Description: Queensbury Ridges is seeking an enthusiastic person to join our small team.

The 2IC is responsible for working with the Farm Manager to run the farm. This includes taking responsibility for the day-to-day running of Queensbury Ridges to maximise the productivity and efficiency of the business.
Applicants Requirements Must be able to work in a team environment, engage effectively with other team members to enable the best outcomes for the farm.
Be able to communicate clearly and assertively with staff members, work independently and accept responsibility.
Support the farm manager and take over the manager's role in their absence.
Have a willingness to up-skill, grow and develop and do their very best for the farm.
Have a sound understanding of basic feed budgeting.
Have a sound understanding of on-farm health and safety.
Must have a minimum of one dog to shift cattle around the farm.
This is a live-on-farm position.
Attention to detail and an eye for quality pasture management.
Capable of record keeping.
MUST have at least 3 years experience.
Good tractor silage wagon experience.
Queensbury Ridges is a 2500Ha property comprising of 1880Ha of extensive Hill country and 620Ha of irrigated flats growing winter crops and pasture for grazing and finishing cattle. We pride ourselves on inclusive, supportive team environments, that look after both our people and the land.

The farm is located in Central Otago between Wanaka and Cromwell. It is an amazing area for outside sports including skiing, biking, and hunting.

This is a live-on-farm position with a 4-bedroom farmhouse as part of the salary package. Salary is negotiable depending on experience.
