The role primarily provides management accounting advice to support budget managers complete their budget and forecast processes in an efficient and effective manner, consistent with our diverse range of business units across MPI. You will work closely alongside your colleagues and wider Finance Business Partnering teams to respond to the changing needs of the Ministry, performing other tasks as reasonably required.
You will, in time, develop an understanding of your business unit's operations, so that reporting, budgeting, and forecasting are customer-focused and tell an accurate story behind the numbers that is easy to understand.
You may have worked in a large complex organisation, have stakeholder engagement experience, and have full membership or be working towards a membership of a professional accounting body. To ensure you are successful in the role you will need to demonstrate:

This role is part of the Management Accounting team and reports to an easily accessible finance manager. This is a collegial team made up of Business Accountants and Assistant Business Accountants based in Wellington, who work closely together to share information and best practices to support budget managers.
