Do you want to work in an environment where you can make a difference to your clients?Are you passionate about business and learning new skills?Would you like to work mostly from home yet still have plenty of social interaction?Are you disciplined and proactive and able to take the initiative?Do you have some basic accounting & tax knowledge?Money Metrics is an established accounting practice with a focus on business improvement using Xero and other cool tools.The role is a key support to the director in day-to-day accounting and administration work for clients and the practice.Tasks include and are not limited to:Assist with bookkeeping tasks, including recording financial transactions and maintaining accurate records.Process accounts payable, including invoice verification, data entry, and payment processing.Support the accounting team with general administrative tasks and data entry.Reconcile Xero accounts and assist with financial reporting.Maintain organized and up-to-date financial records.Collaborate with team members to ensure accurate and timely completion of accounting tasks.Respond to accounting inquiries and provide support as needed.Qualifications, Skills and Experience1-3 years of experience in an accounting role, with a focus on bookkeeping and accounts payable.Proficiency in Xero accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word).Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial tasks.Good organizational and time management skills.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Excellent communication skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving.Must be based in Rotorua or the Bay of Plenty.This job is part-time, 20-30 hours per week with the potential to increase to full-time work.Remuneration would be reflective of skills & experience and could be on a contract or salary basis.You must have the right to live and work in NZ to apply for this job.Your application will include the following questions:Which of the following statements best describes your right to work in New Zealand?How many years of accounting experience do you have?Which of the following Microsoft Office products are you experienced with?Do you have experience using Xero?Do you have experience in administration?How many years of accounts payable experience do you have?What's your expected annual base salary?
