The Assistant Accountant role works closely with the Financial Accountant to ensure accurate financial reporting. This role involves a mix of statutory and management accounts, general ledger reconciliation, and cashflow management.Your key responsibilities:Perform daily accounting tasks such as recording transactions, posting journal entries, and reconciling accounts.Daily download of bank statements and complete bank reconciliations for each entity.Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records and documentation.Collaborate with departments to ensure proper recording and reporting of financial transactions.Administration and other duties may be required to ensure the efficiency and effectiveness of the department and overall organisation.Updating Fixed Assets register.Reviewing and auditing approved Continia expenses.Payments for MFAT.Organising allowances for MFAT scholars via Armourguard.Assist with system improvement projects.Additional responsibilities as assigned by the Financial Accountant.Minimum requirements:A minimum of 2+ years' commercial experience in a financial or management accounting role.A tertiary qualification in Business, Commerce, or a similar relevant discipline.Qualified CA or equivalent preferred.Proficiency in using accounting software, CRMs, and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel for data analysis and reporting.Excellent attention to detail.Excellent communication skills; both written and verbal, including a proven ability to translate to non-financial stakeholders.It's important to our team you have these personal attributes:You align with the Skills Group vital signs: Joy, Manaakitanga, Collab, Bold.You're commercial, inquisitive, and driven to make Skills Group an even better business offering.You enjoy a collaborative, fun but hard-working environment.
