Description Due to recent growth and a strong forward work position in the Waikato, we have an opportunity for a Assistant Accountant to join the Waikato Region.
Reporting to the Area Finance Manager – Waikato, you will be part of a close-knit finance and administration team.
You will be assisting in the delivery of finance and administration support services.A typical day may include:• Raising customer invoices and assisting in weekly debtor and cashflow management.• Maintaining project, customer, and supplier master data files within JDE.• Assist project managers and engineers in understanding project/financial reporting.• Assist in the region's administrative, regulatory, and financial duties and in line with the Group timetable.Come join the Higgins Team:• Role based in our Hamilton branch.

What you'll bring to the role:• Tertiary qualification in accounting with over 3 years practical accounting experience• Experience with using the JDE operating system is desirable.• Prior experience in Civil Contracting/ Construction industries is desirable.• AT qualified or working towards AT or CA designation.• High attention to detail• Confident at owning and managing workflows with competing deadlines.• Highly organised, ability to prioritise.
• Skilled in using Excel.
