Asset Manager - 3 Waters & Land DrainageAs Kaipara District Council embarks on a transformative journey, now is the perfect time to join us! This presents an exciting opportunity for an Asset Manager to lead the strategic management of 3 Waters and Land Drainage assets, driving success and making a real difference in Kaipara's communities.
Don't miss your chance to join our dynamic, energetic and high-achieving organisation!Experience a supportive team culture with excellent leadership and a range of well-being initiatives.This full-time position is available in either Mangawhai or Dargaville with WFH options.About the opportunity: In this newly created role, your primary focus will be the strategic asset management of water, wastewater, stormwater, and land drainage assets within Council. You will work to enhance asset management practices and ensure alignment with infrastructure strategies and regulatory requirements. By collaborating with various teams and stakeholders, you'll help drive optimal investment returns and effectively address community needs.
Key responsibilities include: Maintaining a strategic overview of water-related assets: ensure effective planning to deliver level of service targets and comply with statutory and regulatory requirements.Managing network models, developing catchment management plans and contributing to relevant policies and plans.Collaborating on development consent applications and support planning for Private Plan Changes.Overseeing asset condition assessments: analyse and collect asset data, prepare project documentation, and ensure accurate information transfer to the asset management system.About you: We are looking for someone with exceptional relationship management and interpersonal skills, coupled with strong strategic and analytical capabilities. Effective communication, problem-solving, and negotiation skills are essential. Your expertise in asset management planning will ensure successful outcomes.
In addition, you will have:
A qualification in engineering, infrastructure asset management, a related field or equivalent experience.Proven experience in planning, designing or managing water infrastructure.Expertise in asset management and long-term strategic planning.Experience working directly with or for local government entities.What we offer: Kaipara District Council offers a flexible, supportive, and inclusive team culture within a collaborative environment.
