Posted: 30/09/2024 Closing Date: 24/10/2024 Job Type: Permanent - Full Time Location: Dunedin or Cromwell Job Category: Engineering Job Description The Role A key member of the Asset Management team, you will be heavily involved in developing, reviewing and preparing asset renewal, refurbishment and maintenance plans and strategies that mirror best practice technically and commercially.
You will also work on immediate asset needs; prioritising, problem solving and creating clear work scopes to meet customers' needs and regulatory requirements.
You will be one of three engineers responsible for Aurora's Zone Substations and Underground Network, you'll utilise your strong technical knowledge in maximining their life in a safe and reliable manner.
Ideally you have experience in maintenance, operation and/or design of electricity distribution networks, including substations.
You will also ideally have expertise in managing some relevant fleets, and an appetite to learn and support your peers with others.
As a team the collective will set strategic direction.
When it comes to technical problem solving - you will both benefit from the support of your team, but also play a role in supporting them.
This will see you collaborating with the wider Asset Management & Planning, Works Delivery, Network Operations, and Contracting teams.

You are comfortable making risk-based decisions or recommendations.
You have strong communication skills, and likely come from a similar role in asset engineering related to electrical distribution.
You should have a good understanding of electrical distribution assets, including knowledge of failure modes and control measures.
Those with engineering experience related to substations and underground distribution networks, transmission or generation that are wanting to transition into asset management are encouraged to apply.
Experience with Cables and/or Power Transformers would be an advantage.
You will hold a NZCE, Bachelor of Engineering or higher qualification related to electrical engineering.
The Opportunity Reporting to the Asset Lifecyle Lead - Stations and Underground, this position will be joining an Asset Management & Planning Team with a dynamic make up, that has a broad range of skills and experience.
With Aurora further developing its asset management maturity and investing heavily in strengthening its Asset Management System, there is significant opportunity to contribute to developing and enabling the ambitious asset management maturity goals they have defined.
This includes contributing to the development of risk-based decision-making tools and models that will be import tools for systematically informing lifecycle decisions.
