We truly believe that when people achieve their financial goals, their whanau and communities flourish as a result.To help us with this, we are searching for an Asset & Liability Manager to join our teamThe main responsibilities of this critical senior role, which reports to our Manager Treasury and Financial Analysis, is:contributing to setting strategic direction in relation to SBS liquidity risk, funding risk, interest rate risk and Treasury related counterparty credit risk.developing and recommending strategies/tactics for efficiently transacting financial instruments to effect change to the interest rate risk profilemonitoring wholesale rates, derivative market and product developments to ensure the most appropriate strategies and products are utilised by SBSpreparing Treasury related reporting and present this to the Manager Treasury and Financial Analysis, CFO, Asset Liability Committee and SBS Board on Treasury activitiesestablishing positive external relationships with key stakeholders including Wholesale Bank counterparties, RBNZ and credit rating providersundertaking financial analysis of capital, liquidity and interest rate margin including stress testing related to capital and liquidity riskthe execution and achievement of treasury objectives and BAU deliverables associated with liquidity risks, meeting RBNZ reporting requirements within approved policy control limitsmonitoring and reporting SBS' interest rate risk exposure and recommending appropriate hedging activity to manage these risksAs an experienced Asset Liability Manager, you will have:Ideally 5+ years treasury experience and/or similar experience in banking or the financial industryTertiary qualification either in finance, economics or mathematics majorAdvanced or post-graduate level finance, risk management or mathematics related study would be preferable along with professional membership to either Institute of Financial Professionals New Zealand or CAANZAbility to interpret and apply legal / regulatory standards to an organisation's reporting (e.g., accounting standards)Previous experience being responsible for market risk managementAdvanced spreadsheet experience including analytical models.In addition to the above, you will have a strong understanding of the financial markets, debt and derivative instruments. Your attention to detail and accuracy along with your excellent research and analytical skill will be envied by many.
