About the role We're looking for candidates with a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, BEngTech, or NZ Diploma in Electrical Engineering, combined with relevant industry experience—at least five years in asset management, construction/maintenance, or engineering roles within the electrical power supply industry.
You should have a strong technical understanding of electrical secondary assets, including knowledge of failure modes, lifecycle management principles, and risk assessment methodologies.
Proven expertise in managing secondary systems such as protection relays, SCADA, RTUs, and DC systems is essential.
You should be comfortable supporting investment decisions and maintaining alignment with Powerco's asset management strategies.
Experience with asset analytical modelling tools and techniques, such as CNAIM, and proficiency in data analysis to inform decision-making is highly desirable.
In addition to your technical skills, we're looking for strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across internal teams and external stakeholders.
A continuous improvement mindset, along with the ability to assess task urgency, prioritize effectively, and manage workloads efficiently, will set you apart in this role.
