Karamea Area School is looking for a motivated teacher to join our team to teach NCEA Geography, History, Economics, PE, and Junior Social Studies.

Karamea Area School moved into brand new buildings in 2022. Our small class sizes allow us to know each of our Akonga and work to meet their individual needs. Karamea Area School caters for students from Y0–13, and as a Secondary teacher, you would be expected to teach students from Y7–13. Our focus on achievement through creative pedagogy has achieved significantly improved NCEA results, and you will be committed to continuing this success.
Because we are a rural and isolated school, you will qualify for both the High Priority and Isolation Allowance in addition to your base salary. Karamea is a close and welcoming community approximately 100 kilometres from the nearest major town, Westport. In addition to the school, other facilities include a Health Centre, 4 Square supermarket, hairdresser, and self-service petrol station.
