Fixed term contract: 18th November - 14th March, 20 hours per week.
Enhance visitor experience and share your knowledge of Tikanga Maori with a diverse range of visitors.

As a Summer Field Officer for Tupuna Maunga , you will provide essential support and presence during the summer period, managing visitors and tourism operators to uphold the values of the Tupuna Maunga. You will work closely with the Manager Tupuna Maunga to implement operational plans effectively.
Day to day you will be:
Welcoming manuhiri and sharing the cultural significance of the Tupuna Maunga.
Educating visitors on Tupuna Maunga values and ensuring compliance with rules.
Collaborating with the team to address maintenance queries and issues.
Responding to inquiries and providing information about the Maunga.
Organising events and activities for manuhiri to enhance their experience.
You should possess a background in visitor management and community engagement, with a strong understanding of Tikanga Maori.
The ideal candidate will:
Have a current NZ driver's licence.
Bring experience in visitor management within a park-like environment.
Demonstrate effective communication skills with diverse audiences.
Understand and communicate te ao Maori world view to the community.
Show a commitment to community partnership and relationship building.
Exhibit the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
This position is 20 hours per week and shifts can include working from Monday - Thursday or Thursday - Monday; availability to work across weekends and the new year period is required.
