Pou Kokiri (Cultural Development Coordinator) (Full-time, Permanent) Kia hiwa ra! Kia hiwa ra! About Raukawa Charitable Trust: The Raukawa Charitable Trust (RCT) has been a provider of quality iwi and community initiatives throughout its takiwa (South Waikato, Matamata Piako, Waipa) since 1987. We are proud to deliver a wide range of iwi-lead initiatives in health, social, cultural, and environmental sectors, to the communities that we serve. Pou Kokiri: Based from Tokoroa, we are seeking an energetic, dynamic person to join our passionate, experienced team who advance te reo Maori use, Raukawa cultural connection, understanding and tikanga application for uri o Raukawa members. The Pou Kokiri role focuses on the progression of the Raukawa Cultural Strategy and Te Manawapouhihiri, the Raukawa Cultural Framework, supporting the achievement of Raukawa cultural aspirations at the iwi, marae, hapu and whanau levels. The Pou Kokiri role will work alongside and in conjunction with Raukawa marae in support of researching, promoting, teaching and using our reo, matauranga a-iwi, whakapapa, korero tuku iho and cultural practices. A background and passion for cultural education, promotion and use of te reo Maori is paramount. This role will provide support to grow our Raukawa culture and matauranga a-iwi amongst uri o Raukawa through community-based cultural education, promotion, engagement, programme facilitation and relationship building and providing support that empowers hapu, marae and whanau aspirations. This role combines both a mixture of in-office and out-of-office time to promote strong marae and iwi community connection, with flexible working arrangements including work from home options available. Ordinarily in-office activities will be based from the Tokoroa office. The Pou Kokiri role will be suited to those with a strong kaupapa Maori commitment. Additional qualities we are searching for include: Intermediate to advanced level of te reo Maori fluency; Practical experience and understanding of tikanga a-iwi o Raukawa; Strong Raukawa networking ability; An understanding of the challenges our whanau face within cultural development; Demonstrated ability to inspire, motivate and connect people; Excellence in developing and growing trusting relationships with our whanau; A high level of self-motivation and the ability to use initiative to deliver outcomes; Attention to detail and an ability to track and meet multiple deadlines and requirements; A commitment to creating an effective team environment.
