AnimalCare Vet Clinic - Companion Animal Veterinarian - Havelock North Organisation/clinic: AnimalCare Vet Clinic Location: Havelock North Position type: Companion Animal Veterinarian We are looking for an experienced veterinarian to join our AnimalCare team on a full-time basis. We are a busy companion animal clinic in Havelock North, and offer a full range of services, including onsite IDEXX blood testing, digital radiography, dental x-ray, and ultrasound. We are very fortunate to have motivated clients who like to pursue BEST Practice, and we are also able to offer referral of complicated cases to both Massey and Auckland.
Havelock North is an affluent small town in the Hawke's Bay, with many local award-winning wineries. We are a short distance from the beautiful Te Mata Peak Park, and only a 25-minute drive to the nearest beaches, as well as the larger towns of Napier and Hastings.
This full-time position includes rostered weekends (1:4 to 1:5) and on-call work. Afterhours services are shared between us and two other local clinics. There is a local afterhours clinic in development, which is still in the planning stages.
You would be joining a team of three full-time veterinarians, two part-time veterinarians, and nine veterinary nurses. We are one of the few independent clinics left and have now been in operation for 21 years (with many of the original client base!). Shifts are 7.5 hours long with an hour's lunch break and time blocked off in the diary for your own hospital patients and phone calls/procedures. Many of our staff have young families and we can offer flexibility as needed, rather than a 'one size fits all' approach. There are several, friendly, staff dogs that like to join us for the day too!
