Job Description e aha te turanga - About the role:   We are currently recruiting volunteers for Kaitaia. Volunteering as an Ambulance & Events officer is a big commitment that provides huge rewards. By working at community events and on an ambulance your role is varied, but the focus is always on providing quality care to patients. Our Ambulance & Events Officers provide care and support to our patients through their journey which may start at a 111 call and end either being referred to another health care provider, treated on scene, or transported to a medical facility. As an Events Volunteers you could be covering anything from local and international sports events to school fairs or a rock concert. We offer NZQA recognised training and will give you all the support and education needed to make you safe and effective in the field. Once accepted, your online and classroom training and workbooks will take around 6-9 months to complete. Qualifications Ko wai koe - About you: Before you apply; you will need the following: You will have a desire to help people in a compassionate and professional way, embracing the diversity our communities offer and be committed to continuous learning and training. Without question, you will be trustworthy and reliable, able to display excellent communication skills (written and oral) and have great time management. To be successful in this role, you will need: A full and clean NZ driver's licence for at least 12 months or have completed an approved NZTA advanced driving course (if full licence held for less than 12 months)  To be 18 years of age or over  New Zealand citizenship or permanent resident status  A clean Police record  To be able pass Hato Hone St John assessments - physical assessment, health questionnaire, literacy and numeracy assessments and an interview To be computer literate To meet our medical standards  Medical Standards To be available for regular duty and training (approximately two 12 hour shifts and one training session per month) Additional Information Me pehea te tuku tono - How to apply Click " I'm interested " before applications close on 31st October 2024 For further information please contact Tanya Jeffery, Recruitment Experience Advisor on 09 526 0528 x 8793 for a confidential discussion.
