Te Whatu Ora (Nelson Marlborough)'s Medical Admissions and Planning Unit (MAPU) allows patients with medical conditions to be assessed by a multidisciplinary team so that a comprehensive care plan can be put in place.
This improves the patient experience, ensures that investigations and treatments are quicker, and decreases hospital stay. Working in this 10 bed unit will use all your skills, with daily learning opportunities.
We are looking for a Physiotherapist or Occupational Therapist who has a genuine passion for working alongside clients in the acute medical setting, to facilitate a smoother health journey, and be part of this new initiative.
These roles will require you to be adaptable to change, resourceful, and flexible to service needs.
We have a total of 0.6 FTE available, covering a 7 days service, (allowing some crossover time).
This role is one part time appointment working 48 hours a fortnight (0.6 FTE) working Thursday to Saturday.

We are looking for applicants with:
NZ registration in Occupational Therapy or Physiotherapy, with a current practising certificate
comprehensive clinical assessment and problem-solving skills
the ability to work autonomously and collaboratively, to develop positive interpersonal relationships, work flexibly within the inter-disciplinary team, with a team player attitude.
excellent communication skills, to liaise with health professionals both within the in-patient services and in the community
Full clean driver's licence.
The successful candidate must be eligible to work in New Zealand or hold a valid NZ visa at the time of applying.
