Based in the Waikato, either Morrinsville, Cambridge, Te Awamutu, however, will consider Northland location for the right candidate.
Mo te turanga | About the Role
We are looking for a dynamic and results-driven Portfolio Manager to join our Agribusiness team, reporting to the Head of Insights and Research. In this role, you will manage a team of Agribusiness Analysts across the Waikato and Northern regions, driving performance and enhancing their skills and capabilities.
As the Portfolio Manager, you will play a key role in supporting the career development of your team while also taking on more complex credit analyst work for key clients. Your deep expertise in finance and agribusiness will allow you to step in when Analysts are unavailable, ensuring continuity of service. You will optimise the team's performance and build strong relationships with both internal stakeholders and external customers.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage a team of Agribusiness Analysts, uplifting their performance and supporting their professional development.
Oversee complex credit analysis for high-value agribusiness customers, ensuring strong credit risk management.
Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders to deliver exceptional service and solutions.
Ensure continuous performance improvements and development of team capabilities.

Proven experience in coaching and mentoring in a high-performance environment.
High level of credit expertise, analysing financial statements and accessing risk to develop customised strategies.
Strong understanding of the Agri sector, including market cycles, supply chains, and industry-specific challenges and innovations.
Deep understanding of how individuals are performing and what engages them.
Strong interpersonal and networking skills and can communicate with credibility.
Proven best customer outcomes, problem solving and planning skills.
Sound knowledge of compliance, security documentation, and Agribusiness customer base.
