We lead the regulatory management system (the set of policies, institutions, processes and tools employed by central government to pursue and maintain good quality regulation) and contribute to the design and operation of individual regulatory systems.
We are a small group of dedicated professionals, working in a 'can do' environment.
About the Role The Ministry is recruiting a number of newly established Advisor opportunities within the Regulatory Reviews teams.
The group's core functions are to:
Uplift regulatory system capability using a variety of interventions and mechanisms. Improve regulation and regulatory systems by undertaking targeted reviews of varying scope and scale. As an Advisor, you will play a key role in supporting regulatory reviews and investigating specific regulatory issues raised by various stakeholders.
Collaborating with advisors at all levels, you will contribute to advancing the Ministry's broader initiatives, strategies and approaches.
Your support will span across reviews and system capability areas, while also assisting with other organisational tasks where your advisory expertise is required.
About you You will bring with you:
Sound critical thinking, reasoning and judgment skills, with the ability to apply these effectively in a policy or regulatory context. Excellent interpersonal, relationship management and collaboration skills, along with strong written and verbal communication abilities. Personal integrity, sound judgment, and a commitment to honesty and ethical conduct. Demonstrated experience in advising and supporting people in an organisation. A proactive and continuous improvement mindset. Experience working in the public service with the understanding of the machinery of government and processes. Regulatory policy, economics, operational policy or regulatory operations. Experience in submissions analysis and working on regulatory change proposals. Salary range: $79,078 - $104,887 dependent on skills and experience.
