The location for this role is flexible, allowing you to work anywhere in New Zealand, including options for remote work. The team will work on the Minister's main waste system level priorities, which includes, but is not limited to, legislation. This team would be the place where the overall waste system story would be held. The team uses evidence and information from across the Waste and HSNO Policy Business Unit and the waste sector to ensure fit-for-purpose legislative settings and strategic direction. The key purpose of this role is to support the development of analysis and advice on a range of waste policy issues. You will be exposed to a wide range of policy issues through applying transferable, core skills. In addition, you will take responsibility for quality assurance of papers and policy advice, including Ministerials and OIA requests you produce or contribute to. Minimum Requirements: Demonstrated experience managing the implementation of complex policy projects and programmes and managing risks. An ability to set priorities and to achieve deadlines and project and programme outputs. Ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbal. Salary range for this role is $79,598 to $96,372 pa. Appointment within this range will be based on skills and experience.
