The team is responsible for the provision of strategic policy advice and delivery of key programme investments focused on improving economic wellbeing outcomes for Pacific Peoples in Aotearoa. One of the team's programmes is the Tupu Tai Pasifika Public Sector internship programme.The Tupu Tai programme is a 14-week paid summer internship where Pacific interns are placed with agencies across government. MBIE leads the programme and organises recruitment and placements across the public sector. The 2024/25 summer internship has been paused reflecting the wider context of public sector organisational change processes that are currently underway across MBIE and within other public sector agencies.The Advisor Tupu Tai plays a key role in contributing to the delivery and future design of the Tupu Tai Pasifika Public Sector internship programme.
