Te Puni Kokiri is the government's principal policy advisor on Maori wellbeing and development. We achieve strategic influence with a focus on providing high quality policy advice and holding other agencies to account for delivering public services to, for and with Maori. This includes our mandate to promote Maori achievement in education, training, health and economic resource development along with performing our monitoring and mentoring roles. We have several key leadership opportunities available in our Data, Insights and Monitoring directorate.
Reporting to the General Manager, Data Insights and Monitoring, the Manager, Research and Evaluation is critical to ensuring the strategic positioning and role that research and evaluation plays in building the evidence base for Te Puni Kokiri to be effective system monitors.
The Manager, Research & Evaluation will use their expertise to:
Lead the creation and implementation of an evaluation programme that aligns to Government and Ministerial Priorities in key areas of influence for Te Puni Kokiri.Lead a small but bespoke research programme of work that identifies opportunities that lead to economic growth or the adoption of whanau ora and whanau centre frameworks as trusted delivery models for the public sector.Provide leadership and strategic advice to direct and deliver to the Research and Evaluation work programme of Te Puni Kokiri.Be a trusted advisor to a wide range of stakeholders who can support the development of solutions.Lead a team of highly skilled kaimahi and support them on best practice, implementation and opportunities as they present themselves.Lead and model a strong collaborative work approach and culture.Ko wai koe | About you To be successful in this role, you will have experience working in Research and Evaluation environments. You will have experience leading and mentoring teams. You are motivated to help others succeed and are committed to creating open, collaborative environments where all kaimahi can share knowledge and contribute. You're a people person who can easily translate complex ideas into workable delivery programmes. Experience working in hybrid agile environments is a plus. This is also a unique opportunity to work with Maori data including appropriate methodology to in a research and/or evaluation context.
