Advanced Practice Cardiac Physiologist (EP or Device) New Zealand Government – Wellington, North Island
$122,570 - $127,720 a year

Location : This position is expected to work primarily from Wellington hospital.
The Advanced Practice Cardiology Physiologist:
Demonstrates strong evidence-based practice in the fields of Electrophysiology and/or Devices.
Demonstrates advanced knowledge of types and mechanisms of cardiac arrhythmias.
Demonstrates a high level of clinical reasoning, with the ability to analyse complex clinical and technical information to identify the problem and make appropriate clinical decisions based on the findings.
Communicates and documents comprehensively and effectively.
Provides expert technical support to others and undertakes complex clinical trouble shooting both locally and for other regions.
Investigates and alerts others to learnings from local experience, relevant journal articles and international guidelines.
Undertakes complex trouble shooting in relation to materials and equipment used for investigations and procedures.
The Cardiology Service is a Secondary and Tertiary service provided for Health New Zealand, Capital, Coast and Hutt Valley (CC & HV) and those of the central region of New Zealand.
Cardiology at CC & HV includes:
Cardiac Diagnostic Testing
The Heart and Lung Unit
Cardiac Interventional Suite, providing the following procedures: Coronary Angiograms, Coronary intervention and CTO, Balloon Valvuloplasty and TAVI, PFO/ASD/LAA Closure, Pacing, ICD and CRT implants, Electrophysiology Studies, 3D mapping and Ablation, Pacing/ICD follow-up service, including remote monitoring and travelling clinics, Cath Lab, Device Implants and Electrophysiology, Echocardiography, Exercise Tolerance Testing, Ambulatory monitoring- Holters, Events & BP, Electrocardiography, Training of Provisional Cardiac Physiologists, Cardiac Physiology Technicians and other Health Care staff.
Clinical Physiology provides a full range of diagnostic testing as an integral part of the Cardiology Service.
The CC & HV Cardiology Service is accredited as an SCT training facility.

At least 9 years post graduate experience.
Practice and further training has been completed, demonstrating a high level of clinical competence in a specialty area, EP and/or Devices.
Ability to teach, lead & mentor developing staff in area of speciality.
Essential Professional Qualifications / Accreditations / Registrations:
Current Annual Practising Certificate.
Membership of SCT.
BSc.
Post Graduate Diploma in Cardiac Technology.
International Board of Heart Rhythm Examiners (IBHRE) and/or The Cardiac Electrophysiology Institute of Australasia (CEPIA) Graduate Diploma.
