Administration Support Officer, Specialist Applications Permanent, Part Time Maori Land Court, Wellington Te ahuatunga a Te Kooti Whenua Maori me Te Kooti Pira Maori / About the Maori Land Court and the Maori Appellate Court The modern Maori Land Court and Maori Appellate Court are enduring courts of record which are continued under Te Ture Whenua Maori Act 1993. This legislative framework recognises that whenua is a taonga tuku iho of special significance to Maori, and for that reason, the primary objective of both Courts is to promote, and assist in, the retention of Maori land in the hands of its owners, and for the effective use, management and development of their land. The Ministry of Justice supports this framework by providing client advisory, court registry, case management, land, title and survey management as well as judicial support services for both the Maori Land Court and the Maori Appellate Court. Te Haeata / The Opportunity We currently have a vacancy for a part time, permanent role in our Specialist Applications team in Wellington. As the Administration and Support Officer you will be responsible for a range of administrative support activities such as managing correspondence, printing and filing documents, arranging travel, coordinating meetings, setting up meeting rooms, following-up on action points and engaging with stakeholders. The Specialist Applications team (Te Whakamaene) provides judicial support to the Chief Judge of the Maori Land Court as well as technical expertise and key case management and research services to the wider bench of the Maori Appellate Court. Utu a-tau / Salary The remuneration band for this role is $54,343 to $74,416 (pro-rata) while the appointing salary will be based on skills and experience, we are willing to pay higher in the band to attract strong candidates into this role.
