About Our Role:
Location: Colwyn House Lifecare, Hastings
Type: Permanent full-time
Shifts: AM, PM and weekend shifts
We have a fantastic opportunity for a Activities Assistant with a passion for caring for others, to make a meaningful difference to the lives of our residents. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring that our residents are cared for to the highest standard with kindness and patience.
As an Activities Assistant, you will be involved in the delivery of activity programs that meet the individual physical, spiritual, cultural, cognitive, and emotional needs of residents. This includes planning, organising and delivering activities, outings, events, and involvement in community groups.
Your Skills and Experience:
Proven experience caring for others, ideally within an aged care environment.
Minimum NZQA Level 2 Certificate in Health and Wellbeing, or an equivalent New Zealand or overseas qualification (e.g. Bachelor of Nursing, Diploma in Nursing).
Good communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
Full NZ drivers licence, and confidence in driving a van.
A genuine love for helping people, excellent customer service skills, with a friendly and positive attitude.
A passion for continuous improvement, with a sound understanding of health and safety procedures.
