Job title: Accounting Manager Job location/region: Queenstown/ Otago Number of positions: 1 Employment type: Permanent / full-time Days required: Monday to Friday, occasional weekends Hours per week: 40 hours Salary based: NZD $66,000 - $70,000 per year Job Description: Responsible for accounts payable and receivable.
Be fully Xero conversant to enter data in Xero daily.
GST Report every two months.
Prepare and ensure the accuracy of important business reports, such as profit and loss statements for the directors.
Tracking payments to internal and external stakeholders.
Performing reconciliations of accounting accounts, sorting out receipts, deposit books, and transfers.
Processing and filing invoices accurately and within expected time periods.
Manage budget, cashflow, and forecasting.
Verifying financial statements, ledgers, and accounts, making corrections where appropriate.
Organise source documents, files, and other account-affiliated information.
Find and address any accounting discrepancies.
Collaborate with external or internal auditors.
Reinforce financial data confidentiality and conduct database backups when necessary.
Monitor daily communications and answer any queries.
Prepare statutory accounts.
Work with spreadsheets, sales and purchase ledgers, and journals.
Update and maintain procedural documentation.
Oversee credit card expenses and their reconciliation.
Manage and oversee Public Trust transactions.
Assist Payroll.
Job pre-requisites: Complete degree in accounting or finance.
Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience, with a portion in a management role.
Ability to handle large amounts of data and strong math skills.
High attention to detail and accuracy in tracking and recording financial transactions.
Knowledge of finance, auditing work, and bank bond.
Proven knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting principles, practices, standards, laws, and regulations.
Thorough knowledge of Public Trust, Static Trust, and Fidelo (CRM).
Advanced computer skills on MS Office, accounting software, and databases; advanced Microsoft Excel skills and full conversance with Xero are essential.
Preferably: Knowledge of business management practices, including business ethics.
Strong leadership skills with a dedication to driving and achieving results.
Time management skills to track and prioritize ongoing projects and tasks, monitor, and evaluate accounting operations and deliverables.
Experience with reviewing and implementing business processes.
