This hands-on Accountant role at UCOL Te Pukenga will require a proactive and adaptable individual who is willing to contribute across multiple areas of the finance team.
The ideal candidate will be someone who enjoys supporting and collaborating with others, offering guidance where needed, and playing an active role in financial reporting and system improvements.
Note: this role is for a 12-Month fixed term.BENEFITS:Professional development opportunities and career progressionCollaborative and inclusive working environmentCompetitive salary and benefits packageWork-life balance with flexible working arrangementsKEY RESPONSIBILITIES:Provide guidance to the Asset Accounting Officer in managing fixed assetsAssist with bank reconciliation and ensure accurate, timely reportingContribute to financial and management accounting, supporting year-end reporting and annual report submissionsEnsure the integrity of financial systems, covering systems accounting and recommending improvementsManage the Tribal benchmarking process, including coordination and reporting during the annual processSupport financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and process improvementsSKILLS & EXPERIENCE:5-10 years of experience in management accounting or a similar roleA CA ANZ accredited degree or equivalent qualification (Bachelor's level or higher)Strong understanding of financial accounting principles, including fixed asset managementExperience with bank reconciliation, systems accounting, and financial year-end processesFamiliarity with the Tribal benchmarking process (desirable)Strong analytical, spreadsheet, and data management skillsABOUT UCOL Te PukengaUCOL Te Pukenga (Universal College of Learning) is dedicated to providing high-quality education that helps learners, employers, and communities develop essential skills.
