Depending on your skills, experience and qualifications, working with a range of clients, you may be responsible for preparation of annual financial statements, tax returns and charity returns for clients. Senior Accountants in the firm oversee the Intermediate and Junior Teams, checking work and providing guidance, support, and training as required. They will also provide off-site training to clients and assist the Director as required.
Key responsibilities of the role include:
Good working knowledge of Xero and XPM
Accounting and client administration
Preparation of financial statements and tax returns for a variety of different entities
Cashflow and financial reporting
Preparation of budgets
Training, leadership and mentoring of colleagues/peers
Risk management
Provide sound, practical business advice to clients
Networking and stakeholder engagement
Successful candidate requirements:
A Qualification in Business Management or Accounting at NZQA Level 7
Chartered Accountant (CA) or working towards/Certificate of Public Practice
5+ years practical experience in an accounting practice
Experience using MYOB Accountants office, Xero, IMS, Datamolino, Microsoft Word and Office
Accounts payable and receivable experience
IRD and accounting legislative knowledge (expert level)
Financial return preparation experience
Strong understanding of accounting systems
Knowledge of IRD and legislative requirements
Current IRD, accounting and legislation knowledge
Excellent analytical skills, able to quickly identify and fix discrepancies
Payroll knowledge
GST and FBT preparation experience
Excellent interpersonal skills, able to form and build client relationships and stakeholder relationships with ease.
Able to work closely with a variety of clients, with experience across many industries
